Meet Chunk! This handsome man was rescued from Pasco County Animal Services after being there for many months and being a staff and volunteer favorite. He was found as a stray dragging a tether spike behind him. Chunk is just THE BEST guy despite probably not having the greatest first years of life!! We’re guessing he’s an American Bulldog/Shar Pei mix and he’s estimated to be 12 years old and is 75 pounds. Don’t let the age fool you…this guy has lots of spunk and love to give!!! He loves to play and hang out with the great dane in his foster home. He is learning to ignore the cats but would need to have continued training and monitoring in his forever home if there are cats present. His foster mom thinks he’d be fine as your only love if you are home often to spend time playing and cuddling him but he would love a dog buddy to hang with if possible. He plays hard so a dog that can handle a good wrestling match is preferred. He ignores the 5 pound, grumpy old man chihuahua in the home like a good boy too. When he’s done with his short play times or walks he then loves to nap by his family. He shares his toys nicely, is crate and house trained, and walks nicely on an easy walk style harness. He is great with the teenagers in the home, has been good with toddlers he’s met but we don’t want him to go to a home with very young kids bc of his size. He is a GEM and deserves the best forever home!! Chunk is heartworm positive but does not show symptoms and we are doing slow kill method of Advantage multi to not put this sweet old man through the fast kill treatment. If you can give this much deserving man the best retirement home please fill out an application on www.maxxandme.org.
Chunk is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption donation is only $150.
