Daisy FOSTER NEEDED
Meet Daisy! After nearly ten years with a family she was turned into a high-kill shelter for “landlord issues”. No mention of any significant health impairments.
Fostered out under the care of that shelter and Adopted – fees waived, paying only for her county tag as legally required – only weeks after that… still no mention from the foster or the shelter of anything “wrong”. Just that she doesn’t do stairs well.
DUMPED IN A WALMART PARKING LOT JUST THREE WEEKS LATER with this handwritten note. No mention that she is 100% deaf and has compromised eyesight in her left eye.
No one got to know her. No one recognized she was in need of special care. No one gave two 💩 to pay attention to Daisy and her needs. They just continued to fail her. Over and over and over again.
Our incredibly loving boarding facility manager happened to be in the right place at the right time. Daisy was being panhandled late at night, “free” once again, they were “moving”.
Daisy became ours. For perhaps the first time ever, certainly the first time in a while, she was wanted.
Daisy is an approx 10 year old, 90 pound Lab/English Springer mix who WE identified is deaf and sees fine from her right eye with diminished sight (zero periphery) from her left.
Because of these compromised senses, Daisy is leary of other dogs. She IS however also terribly loving to people of all ages, races and sizes, she is desperate for attention (can you imagine being so neglected no one knows you can’t hear and can barely SEE?!) and blossoms with minimal care.
Daisy needs someone to give a 💩 whether she can see, hear, and is happy. Daisy needs someone to make her feel safe. Daisy needs a family. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption donation is only $150. To meet Daisy fill out an application on www.maxxandme.org.
