Meet Athena! She appears to be a ridgeback/Staffie mix who is about 2-3 years old weighs around 50 pounds. She came to us from the Pasco County Animal Services (PCAS) with her son Rocky when the owner surrendered them to be euthanized because Athena kept having litters (something, she of course could not help:( and which nearly cost her and her son their precious lives). PCAS would not euthanize these sweet, healthy darlings so we agreed to take the pair into our care to save their lives. Athena is sweet and loving and a little shy at first, but loves human affection and snuggle time and warms up very quickly. She is a good, obedient girl who does fine alone at home without a crate. She is non-destructive and house-trained and always happy to see her foster when he returns from work…For her life’s experiences, she is insecure with other dogs (seems find around some and scared around others), so we think she’ll be best in a home where she is the only pet. She has not been tested with kids nor cats and is probably great with older kids, but likely is a cat chaser. Her foster adores her and sees a serene inner beauty missed by those moving too quickly past her to her the rockstar fluffy frufru types. Athena is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Adoption donation is $250.
