Bertie

Bertie

June 2019, Roberta “Bertie” joined the Maxx crew with her siblings when an over-crowded Ga shelter reached out to us for help saving them from euthanasia. As is almost always the case, all the babies were adopted before their black-dog sister, Bertie. Bertie found her home with a young family FINALLY in December 2019, after being in foster for six months.
Sadly, it’s come to light that while Bertie is an EXTREMELY well-behaved and loving pup, she isn’t a good fit for her family after all. Bertie’s housemate Miles the Husky is slowing down in his older age and she’s just too much energy for him.
Bertie listens well (see videos of her excellent recall), is very active and playful, loves kids and is patient with them, is potty trained, can be an only dog as she gets all fine with others but doesn’t need them as a constant companion in her home. She LOVES love and attention and would thoroughly enjoy a family who wants to cuddle on the couch or snuggle in bed.
Bertie is on the hunt for a family who better fits her needs. Someone who has the time to play ball, run with her, take her on hikes – she loves the water! – and outdoor adventures and then… back home to snuggle! The “hard part” of puppy rearing is done with this one. She listens very well and is an easy “plug and play” dog for an active family. Want the energy of a pup with the assuredness of personality as well as the ease of having an already trained dog?! Bertie is the ticket!
