Reagan- Adoption Pending
Oh Reagan, you sophisticated thing, you…
While Reagan isn’t completely rehabilitated from his trauma of living life as a breeder dog, he IS making strides such that we feel comfortable beginning in earnest the search for his forever home.
Reagan is still EXTREMELY skittish but getting better every day. As he settles in and relaxes, his list of “firsts” grows. First time he conquered the stairs (which quickly became the tenth time he conquered the stairs since he decided they were fun!), first time he laid on a dog bed, first treat, first toy, first time he wasn’t scared to death of every other hunan he saw in the backyard… we are beyond proud of our boy!
Reagan loves other dogs and is MUCH more comfortable in their presence. For this reason, he will need a balanced, good natured dog around his size in his forever home. He much prefers females. He also is (as mentioned) very skittish and loud noises – or just NOISES – scare him still so a house without children and with a securely fenced yard is an absolute must. Reagan ignores cats (GOOD BOY, REAGAN!) and would be fine in a home with FRIENDLY, welcoming felines. In his foster home, the kitty is the hold out and simply hates him. Hence, our rushing the process a bit to find him a more suitable forever home!
Reagan has never known love and tenderness until coming to join our crew. In the past three days in Foster he has progressed remarkably, however. He still has a long way to go but we believe strongly that with a patient family, Reagan can finish his journey to healing in a home that will be his forever.
