Lucy (Golden)

…One of the many breeder babies we have rescued. She’s spent the last few months in foster and recently when her foster family was deployed to Colorado to help with the wildfires, she joined her buddy Ethel in her foster home!
With dedicated care, consistency, patience, and many, many weeks, Lucy has made incredible progress. She’s significantly more relaxed now! Like ALL of these dogs, she bonds hard and fast to whichever resident dog she’s with. In her forever home, she will need a dog around her size who is kind, loving, and welcoming. It’s imperative she have the guidance and comfort from a well-balanced baby to help her continue to progress. For safety reasons, a home without young children will be necessary and she absolutely must have a six foot minimum fenced yard.
Lucy is not the shut down gal she was initially. But it should be expected that she (as do they all) will revert some with a drastic change in environment. She’s in a much healthier head space these days, but she’s not a “typical Golden”. While we hope and expect her to continue make strides towards a more carefree life, we are already thrilled with how far she has come.
