Lizzie

Meet Lizzie!

*Please read entire bio before applying*

Lizzie is a very special girl to us. She is a wonderful, easy girl to love and doesn’t require much inside the home. The only thing she does need is someone who can keep her safe. She was not well socialized in her younger years and is scared of new things and new surroundings. Thus, she just needs a simple life. She isn’t the type of dog that is going to go to dog parks or festivals, you can just leave her at home. But she’s quite content playing with dogs she lives with, going in the backyard and very short walks until she gets more comfortable. Lizzie just needs someone who is open to learning how to keep her safe and who will follow instructions for that.

She is about 5 years old, only about 45-50lbs and appears to be a Labrador retriever and Golden retriever mix. She looks like a thin lab, but has a feathered tail and waves of fur down her back. She’s the prettiest girl and so dainty. She loves other dogs and enjoys going to doggy daycare occasionally, it has really helped her to come out of her shell.

Last year, Lizzie was adopted from the shelter and escaped that home TWICE. She was caught in 10 days the first time, but the second time took 2 MONTHS – yes, two months to catch this girl! Because of this, she needs a very special home and one that can keep her safe.

Needs:

  • A secure, solid, 6ft fenced yard
  • Another nice dog in the home. She feels most confident with other dogs and loves to play with them.
  • No kids, teenagers or even any grandkids that visit regularly. She needs an adult home that is not busy.
  • She MUST LIVE within 45 minutes of Odessa, FL.
  • A willingness to understand and follow instructions to keep her safe.
  • New owner must purchase a Fi GPS collar
  • She will also probably insist on sleeping in your bed 🙂

She’s an easy dog who LOVES comfy, soft blankets and beds. She sleeps or relaxes the majority of the day. She plays with the other dogs some or chews on bones, but she doesn’t do a whole lot. She loves companionship. She’s the sweetest girl, just scared when she hits fresh air. But inside she’s a doll! A small yard would probably be most comfortable for her where she can see the boundaries.

Lizzie is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. Her adoption donation is $300.
