Apparently all the great Georges have NO hair😂🤣😂🤣
This first photo is a combo of my two favorite Georges!!!
The photo highlights the moment I saw my father SAFE in Naples the day after Hurricane Ian decimated his home, he lost everything and nearly lost his life as he swam out in neck deep water as flooding reached the roofs of all the homes in his community.
The second part of the picture is the first moment I met George aka Georgie (prior Quilt) who we rescued from Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center He was a stray brought to PRC. Georgie has no fur and a laundry list of ailments from utter neglect.
🩹Demodex manage
🩹Sores all over his body and bloody wounds
🩹Infected ears
🩹Nails so long they curled…imagine how painful it was it for him to survive, walking the streets with raw, bleeding paws and THOSE nails.
🩹Very thin
Can you imagine the sheer hell this dog has endured in his life to get to this state and how uncomfortable he must be itchy, bleeding?
All of this and Georgie is nothing but PURE LOVE. His 60+ lbs wants to be a lap dog. You can see from the pictures with Heath Bodden at the shelter and the subsequent ones, what a precious boy he is.
We are looking for a foster and adopter for our beautiful, handsome boy! It will take several months to fully clear but he has been to the vet and is on the road to recovery and this is one of many mange dogs we have taken in. Frankly we see George as very handsome despite this condition, but he will be so much better when he has his hair back and continued medical care.
He needs someone willing to continue with medicated baths, help bring him to the vet, provide a loving and safe home, cherish him and love him as much as we do. Demodex is not contagious. We don’t know how George is with other dogs however at the fence he is not interested in them and non reactive. He does still need to be neutered when he is healthy enough so for now he is intact but will be neutered prior to adoption. George will be neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, is on hw prevention. His adoption fee is $300.
