Charlotte and Olive come to us with a past unknown but now, they have a second chance for a future full of life and love 💕 These two are a young bonded pair as we believe they are a mom and daughter duo. Olive, the ticked coat of the two loves to snuggle up close and will stay glued to your side. Charlotte, has the energy for the both of them. She loves to play with toys and is always up for a game of chase. Even though she has a wild side, she is still up for cuddling on the couch. With these two, you’ll get the best of both worlds. We are still working on potty training, but so long as you let them out often there is no need to worry for accidents. They’re good for leash walks and are completely crate trained! Exactly one year ago, we rescued Keenan from a shelter with whom we work closely. He had come from a “hoarder”. He needed lots of work but ultimately thrived with his foster mom Courtney and is now living the good life as Bruno Mars😉

We mentioned to you yesterday, one day shy of Keenan’s gotcha day, we took possession of Billy James from the same place. BJ is Keenan’s half brother! BJ is timid. He’s unsure but sweet. He is said to be good with kids, he’s accepting of other dogs, he is in need of the same care Keenan received. He needs to be shown the affection and attention he’s been denied until now. We just know he will blossom as Keenan did.

BJ’s story has a crazy scary twist: we knew from where he came, we knew he was in need of rescue. What we didn’t know, is how desperately he needed medical attention. Upon intake, the animal control officer said he was not eating well.....BJ needed a dental. Dutifully, we got him in right away to clean his teeth but we weren’t at all prepared for the news we received: BJ had a rusty NAIL embedded in his gums. We can only guess, but likely, he was searching for food or trying to occupy himself by chewing on wood that had a rusty nail in it. Somehow, the nail became embedded in his mouth and infected his jaw/gums. Poor dental care combined with this outlandish circumstance led to BJ needing multiple teeth extractions, so of course, we did that too.

He’s safe now. He’s one of ours. He’s on meds for pain and to clear up the infection the nail caused. He’s about four years old, 16#s, adorable as can be. Thank you to Day and Evening for doing his dental work and for your TLC, Mac for transporting, Lakeside Animal Hospital for boarding him and Lyn and family for stepping up to foster him.
